Last January 26, 2017, we celebrated Indian Republic Day here at Cambridge BHS.

With the help of our dear parents this event became more meaningful and insightful to their children. They were wearing Indian’s National costume and even tasted Indian dishes, specially made by our dear Indian Mommies and Daddies.

We’ve asked Mommy Fara and Mommy Shweta to share something about the republic day and both were very pleased and excited to help in this program.

They’ve started it by singing their national anthem. They’ve shared something about their Indian Flag that the spinning wheel (found in the middle of the flag) symbolises Gandhi’s goal of making Indians self-reliant by fabricating their own clothing. They even showed the emblem of India and their map. They’ve made it more interactive, by asking 4 representatives from the students to pretend as the lions of their national emblem. Great Job Mommy Fara and Mommy Shweta.

We’ve ended this by letting the children try and appreciate Indian dishes.
