On October 19, 2018, Cambridge Congressional kids celebrated United Nations’ Day wearing their creative and DIY head dress. The kids made their head dress based on anything that represents the country that was assigned to them. The theme of the kids’ activities for the day was LOVE, PEACE and EQUALITY.
LOVE
The kids painted a heart using their fingers with different paint for each kid. The different colors symbolized diversity and individual differences of each kid and the big heart symbolizes their love for each other.
PEACE
The kids also painted a peace sign and the teachers taught them the importance of maintaining peace in their own little community.
EQUALITY
The kids also learned about equality using white and brown eggs. They observed the color of the egg and its shape and then they cracked it open. They learned that no matter the difference in skin color, we are all special in our own individual ways.
