  • School Year: 2014 - 2015

Coinciding with the term topic, Our World, let us travel with the kids to China and experience the Chinese New Year celebration! Everyone was bent on preparing their crafts like the hand drum, dragon masks, lantern and of course, the dragon dance. After the parade, the children were so eager to try some Chinese delicacies. What's more, Geronimo Stilton graced the event with Scholastic Book Fair.

Who said we're allergic of chocolates? To show our parents how much we love them, we made heart-shaped chocolates especially for the parents. The kids gave their best not to eat them so they can give to their parents on Valentine's Day. Decorating cupcakes is so easy for the older kids too!

We just can't get enough of the year-end program at Cambridge Banawe last December 18, 2014. The parents and guests had a great time watching the children sing and dance with so much gusto! Who wouldn't be carried away with the kids when they performed in their Santa costumes, each with a unique Santa get up. What's more, the parents and guests were surprised when the children sold some Christmas goodies like fruit gelatin, peanut brittle, banana cakes and popcorn, all made by them the day before. Of course, all the children received a much deserved prize for a job well done!

The Christmas season is here! Our children are already practicing for the much-awaited year-end program. But before the school break, we keep them immersed with learning how to cook and bake Christmas goodies. The kids are sure to surprise their parents and guests. Indeed, it is more fun at Cambridge Banawe (and sweeter too!).

Witness what the kids have done as they explore exciting things about seeds, fruits, juices, vegetables and spices.

We are happy to celebrate our 100th day in school! To mark this event on Nov. 14, 2014, the children brought 100 pcs of canned goods to share to the less fortunate. They were very supportive in wrapping the gift boxes. This is a very meaningful way to teach them on how they can contribute to the community.

Surprise! Surprise! The most awaited school day has arrived! Everybody came in their favorite classic story-book-character costumes. All kids had brilliant smiles on their faces when they gathered to the hall to watch a puppet show. It was indeed amazing to listen to the story of PINOCCHIO. What’s more, they all went home with their baskets full of goodies!

To wrap up our discussion on the term topic: shoes, the children showed off different types of shoes for different seasons like boots for winter, slippers for spring/summer, and sneakers for autumn/fall. Shoes are also used for playing basketball and hip-hop dancing. What's more, they "manufactured" their own shoes at the Cambridge shoe shop!

One way for preschoolers to learn is thru repetition. At Cambridge, Linggo ng Wika is not enough, rather Buwan ng Wika is more appropriate. We gathered the kids to sing Tagalog folk songs, counted from isa to sampu and introduced them to Larong Pinoy. Famous Filipino Food like puto, palabok, camote cue, suman and kakanin were also introduced. Needless to say, they had fun learning how to play Luksong Tinik, sipa, patintero and Tumbang Preso!

Have you prepared a sandwich with your child at home? Last July, Cambridge celebrated the Nutrition Month with the parents and the kids under the theme: Go, Grow and Glow! Everybody had a great time “decorating” their sandwiches. From a smiley sandwich, sandwich bouquet, sandwich tower to different shapes and sizes, we sure had a lot of experiences to remember. Plus a bonus! They all gave their best wacky poses at the photo booth.

Children are very smart. During our discussion on how to keep our shoes clean, most of the kids believed that they need to have clean feet in order to protect their shoes from dirt. To explore further on the term topic-SHOES, we converted an area into a Spa . Each child was given a soothing foot scrub while relaxing on a couch with dim light and soft background music. Wow! What an experience!

Kids are born creative; they have a hundred language. Every term, our topic helps the kids learn to interact with nature thru exploration and discovery of their surroundings. Check out some collaborative projects from the PBEM curriculum at the gallery.
