The Kinder 1 wondered what makes their feet different from that of dogs. To answer their query, the class invited a resource speaker, Dr. Sixto, a veterinarian, to talk about dogs and their paws. The children realized that dogs do not need to wear shoes because their feet have a special cushion to protect them as they walk. They also found out that animals have different kinds of feet such as hooves, paws and claws.

To reinforce the topic on hot and cold, the class had a soup making activity. The children had a great time flaking the chicken, slicing carrots (with Teacher’s help!) and mixing the soup while learning the concept of "hot". Learning that varied shoes have specific purpose, the Nursery 3 talked about boots worn by different community helpers. In a visit to a fire station, the children were able to have a one-on-one encounter with firefighters! Our friendly firefighters from Makati firestation discussed the gears they used to protect them from fire, including boots! The Nursery 3 had a chance to become junior fighters for a day. They wore a firefighter's suit, tried the water hose to put off fire and their most awaited part, riding a firetruck!!
