What a morning filled with action and imagination! The Nursery levels of Cambridge Shaw went on a field work to Kidzoona last August 29, 2015 to practice the different body movements they have been learning in the classroom. The venue provided different equipment and a lot of safe areas for the children to exercise. Additionally, playing pretend was very popular throughout the term and so they enjoyed becoming a fireman, policeman, chef, etc. for the day. The activities prepared were a hit and we can't wait to go back to Kidzoona!

Capping off a delightful and informative first term last August 26, 2015, the Kinder kids, together with their parents and guardians, designed and painted their very own shoes. The white shoes served as a blank canvas as they let their creativity and imagination show through the fantastic designs they made! Well done kids!

For this term, our shoes take the limelight and we took a micro approach on different topics that the children could learn from, namely different movements and occupations that use certain type of shoes for the Toddler and Nursery Classes and a more in depth topic for the Kinder class such as repair process and the buying and selling process of shoes.

An exciting and informative store for an enthusiastic group of children! The Kinder class of Cambridge Shaw visited Dr. Kong Greenhills last August 24, 2015. Throughout the term, they have been learning about different types of shoes, its assortment of materials, and its buying and selling process. On their visit to Dr. Kong, they got to experience first hand how to ‘buy’ their own shoes with Kinder money. The class took turns to be the cashier and the customer. Our friends from Dr. Kong were also kind enough to conduct a foot assessment for every student. The Kinder Class learned a lot and surely had a blast!

Since this term is all about shoes, our Kinder kids learned proper shoe care. They visited Mr. Quickie last July 21, 2015. They had a chance got to watch an actual shoe repairman mending the shoe they brought in for repair. They also got to see some shoe stitching and shoe shining action. It was both an informative and fun fieldwork that the kids enjoyed.

We walked, we ran, we jumped and hopped! We even crawled, climbed and slid down the giant slide! The toddlers went all outi n Kidzoona last August 26, 2015, practicing the movements they learned in class. Although we really missed some of our Toddler kids and we hope to be complete the next time, it was a perfect culminating for the jam-packed term Thank you kids and to our fun parents!

The Nursery 2 children had a wonderful time during their culminating day last August 27, 2015. They highlighted the different movements and sports in connection to the term topic shoes. After a song performance to welcome their parents in the classroom, they made their own sports shirts, watched a video of all the activities enjoyed this term, and got to present their home-made t-shirt bag. Always a good idea to combine fun with learning, congratulations N2!

“When I grow up I want to be…” Where can you find a policeman, a chef, an athlete, a nurse, a doctor and a fireman happily working and playing side-by-side? In Cambridge Shaw, of course! ☺ Last August 25, 2015, the Nursery 1 kids got to "practice" their chosen profession and identified the shoes and materials used in their line of work. It was indeed a perfect way to conclude a fun and imagination-filled first term!

We held our first ever Nanny Patrol talk last August 13, 2015 at Cambridge Shaw. Among the topics discussed were the responsibilities of care givers, general policies, medical emergencies and basic interpersonal skills. Thank you to all the nannies, parents and guardians who joined us! We hope you learned a thing or two from us and we appreciate the helpful suggestions given. 'Til the next one!

Last July 28, 2015, the government together with some private sectors initiated a nationwide earthquake drill. When the siren sounded for a minute, the children became alert as they practiced the Duck, Cover and Hold positions under their respective tables. They stepped out of school to the evacuation site following the emergency exit plan. A head count of all the students was made. After which, they returned to school together to discuss what happened. Everyone was prepared and attentive. It was a great experience for the kids, the parents and guardians and for the teachers as well.
